Roofing in Saraland, Satsuma and Creola, up Highway 43
The three cities north of Mobile along Highway 43 have their own schools, their own permits and the same hurricanes. We repair, replace and build FORTIFIED from Saraland to Creola, with the grant.
Saraland, Satsuma and Creola string north from the Mobile city line along Highway 43 and I-65, between the Mobile River delta on the east and the pine country toward Citronelle on the west. Saraland is the largest, a city of 1970s to 2000s subdivisions off Celeste Road, Shelton Beach Road and Saraland Boulevard with a lot of new building since its school system started; Satsuma and Creola are smaller and older, with brick ranches and houses on bigger lots under pines and pecans. A little inland from the Gulf, the hurricane wind is a notch lower than the coast (the Isaias forecast gave inland Mobile County gusts to 55 while Dauphin Island got 65), but the trees are taller and the rain is the same, and after Sally and Zeta the pine strikes and peeled ridges up here looked like everywhere else.
Each of the three cities issues its own building permit for work inside its limits, with Mobile County handling the unincorporated parcels between them, and we know which office your address uses. The Strengthen Alabama Homes grant applies to primary residences in all three, up to $10,000 toward a FORTIFIED Roof. Our Saraland-area work is mostly replacements on 25- to 35-year-old shingle roofs built FORTIFIED with ridge venting and 6-inch gutters for the pine straw, hurricane repairs documented for claims, metal on the shops along 43 and the homes that want it, and emergency tarping on the same priority list as the city. See roof replacement and FORTIFIED roof and the grant.

Questions from Saraland homeowners
Which office issues my roof permit?
Saraland, Satsuma and Creola each permit work inside their own limits; unincorporated parcels go through Mobile County at 0.5 percent of the contract. We know which applies and file it.
Does the grant reach Saraland?
Yes. Strengthen Alabama Homes covers primary residences anywhere in Mobile County, Saraland, Satsuma and Creola included, up to $10,000 for a FORTIFIED Roof when a window is open.
Is the wind really lower up here?
A little; the forecasts for Isaias gave inland Mobile County gusts to 55 against 65 on the coast. But Sally and Zeta still peeled ridges and dropped pines across Saraland, and a FORTIFIED roof is just as good an idea on Celeste Road as on Dauphin Island.
Can you do my shop on Highway 43?
Yes, R-panel, standing seam or TPO depending on the roof, with a maintenance plan and storm priority for businesses. See commercial roofing.
